Aspect scores highest of the ten UK roofing brands compared, at 6.0 out of 10 on the Whito leaderboard.
Opinion and analysis. Whito read every brand below by hand, using publicly visible activity only: the first five on 12 October 2026 and the five added to make this a top ten on 23 October 2026, against the same fixed anchors and the same ten searches. Each channel is scored 0 to 10, set out under How we scored, so a score describes what we could see on the day, not the quality of the service. Brands cannot pay to appear or to change a score. Where a figure is not published, we say so.
Most roofers assume the big names win work because they are big. The evidence says otherwise. Across ten UK roofing searches, directories and comparison sites filled the results. Only two brands on this board appeared, once each: Aspect and Pimlico Plumbers.
The pattern is simple. The two firms that publish a roofing rate lead the board. Aspect shows hourly roofing rates from £42.75 plus VAT and books jobs online, and Pimlico Plumbers, second on 5.3, lists a roofing rate of £105 between 7am and 6pm. None of the other eight publishes a roofing price.
At the bottom, Bauder scores 2.1, below Briggs Amasco and Lindner Prater on 2.7. All three sell mainly to businesses, with no Trustpilot reviews, no email capture and no Google or Meta ads found in October 2026.
What can your business learn?

Company verdicts
Aspect, 6.0
Aspect scores 6.0, the highest of the ten. Its roofing page is among the strongest websites on the board (9): a page per service, published hourly rates from £42.75 plus VAT, online booking with £10 off, and a 24/7 phone line. Reviews score 8, with 4.0 from 21,676 Trustpilot reviews and replies on 13 of the latest 20. Its cost guide appeared for ‘new roof cost UK’ on both 12 and 23 October, and it ran about 900 Google ads in the 30 days to mid October 2026. Email is thin (4): a customer portal but no newsletter. Its clearest gap is people: no team member is named on the homepage or roofing page.
Pimlico Plumbers, 5.3
Pimlico Plumbers scores 5.3, second on the board. It is one of only two brands to appear in any of the 10 UK searches, with its roof repairs page for ‘roof repairs London’. Like Aspect it publishes a roofing rate, £105 between 7am and 6pm, and names NFRC membership, so its website scores 7. Paid scores 8, with about 600 Google ads and 2 Meta ads. Reviews score 8 from 4.4 on 12,449 Trustpilot reviews, with replies to 10 of the latest 20. Email scores 2 for a newsletter form, and social 4 for three platforms.
Anglian Home Improvements, 5.1
Anglian Home Improvements scores 5.1. Paid scores 10, with about 600 Google ads and 60 active Meta ads, the most Meta ads on the board. Reviews score 7: 40,838 Trustpilot reviews, the most here, at 3.9, with replies to 16 of the latest 20. Its website scores 6, with roofline pages, a quote form and remote quote booking but no roofline prices. Email scores 0, and anglianhome.co.uk appeared in none of 10 UK searches, with buying guides adding a point.
Kingdom Coatings, 5.0
Kingdom Coatings scores 5.0. It covers Scotland and the North of England from Stirling and sells roof and wall coatings with a 10-year guarantee. Reviews are its strongest channel (7): 4.2 from 1,087 on Trustpilot, with a reply on all 20 of the latest, the best reply record on the board. The website (6) has separate coating pages, a quote form and a brochure request, but no prices. It ran 10 Google ads in the 30 days read. It did not appear in any of our ten searches. The clearest gap is its homepage claim to be ‘the UK’s number one provider of professional roof and wall coatings’ with no figure beside it.
Roofline Design, 4.0
Roofline Design scores 4.0. The Leeds firm earns its highest mark on reviews (8), but from Checkatrade rather than Trustpilot, where it has only five: 9.88 out of 10 from 940 reviews, with replies on the latest shown. Its website (6) covers fascias, soffits, guttering and flat roofs, with a quote form and phone lines open 8am to 8pm, seven days. It ran 13 Google ads in the period read. Social is Facebook only (2), there is no email capture (0), and it did not appear in our ten searches. The clearest gap is housekeeping: the homepage FAQ shows unedited ‘Lorem ipsum’ placeholder text.
Everest, 3.7
Everest scores 3.7. Paid scores 10, with 65 Google ads and 12 active Meta ads from its Everest Home UK page. The rest is weaker. Reviews score 4: 13,514 Trustpilot reviews at 2.6, the lowest rating on the board, with no replies on the latest 20. Social scores 0, as the only Facebook link on its pages goes to Facebook’s policy page, email scores 0, and everest.co.uk appeared in none of 10 UK searches. Its website scores 6, with roofline pages and a free quote route but no prices.
Guardian Warm Roof, 3.0
Guardian Warm Roof scores 3.0. Social scores 4: it links Facebook and Instagram profiles, while its X, LinkedIn and YouTube icons go only to those sites’ home pages. Its website scores 6, with product pages and a free quote form but no prices. No Google ads were found and one active Meta ad, so paid scores 4. Reviews score 0 because no Trustpilot profile was found. Email scores 0, and guardianwarmroof.co.uk appeared in none of 10 UK searches, with an advice blog adding a point.
Briggs Amasco, 2.7
Briggs Amasco scores 2.7, level with Lindner Prater. It is a national commercial roofing contractor, so a low consumer score is partly expected. Social is its best channel (6), with X, YouTube and LinkedIn linked. The website (5) has a page for each roofing system, from mastic asphalt to green roofs, and a contact form. Its heritage line, ‘Roofing your World Since 1865’, is clear. There is no Trustpilot profile, no email capture, no ads found and no appearance in our ten searches. The clearest gap is contact: the homepage lists no phone number or email address.
Lindner Prater, 2.7
Lindner Prater scores 2.7, level with Briggs Amasco. It is the only brand on this board with three or more independent news mentions in the 90 days to 12 October 2026, and its site shows a projects library including Everton FC and Co-op Live (both 2024). The website (6) has discipline and sector pages, a phone number and a contact form. Like Briggs Amasco it has no Trustpilot profile, no email capture, no ads found and no presence in our ten searches. The clearest gap is a half-finished rebrand: the site says Lindner Prater, but the linked YouTube channel and X handle still carry the old Prater name.
Bauder, 2.1
Bauder scores 2.1, the lowest of the ten. It makes flat roofing systems and works through approved contractors, so like Briggs Amasco and Lindner Prater it sells mainly to businesses. Its website scores 5, with system pages and a technical centre but no prices. No Google or Meta ads were found, its Trustpilot profile has no reviews, and bauder.co.uk appeared in none of 10 UK searches.
What the channels show
Directories own roofing search
We ran ten UK roofing searches, from ‘roof repairs near me UK’ to ‘roofers Glasgow’. Checkatrade, MyBuilder, Bark, TrustATrader, Which? Trusted Traders and construction directories took the results. Aspect appeared once, through a cost guide, and Pimlico Plumbers once, for ‘roof repairs London’. The other eight brands scored 2 or 3 on SEO. For a roofer, this means the national names are not blocking local search. The directories are, and a well built local page can compete with them.
Prices are almost never published
Only Aspect and Pimlico Plumbers publish roofing prices, and they are first and second on the board. Kingdom Coatings, Roofline Design, Anglian, Everest, Guardian Warm Roof and the three commercial firms ask for a quote first. Homeowners searching ‘new roof cost UK’ want a number, and eight of ten brands give them nothing to anchor on.
Replying to reviews pays, volume does not
Kingdom Coatings replied to 20 of its latest 20 Trustpilot reviews, Anglian to 16, Aspect to 13 and Pimlico Plumbers to 10. Everest has 13,514 reviews but a 2.6 rating and no replies on the latest 20, and scores 4. Briggs Amasco, Lindner Prater, Guardian Warm Roof and Bauder have no Trustpilot reviews and score 0. In a trade where trust decides the job, a visible reply record matters more than a big number.
Paid search is concentrated
Aspect ran about 900 Google ads in the 30 days read, Pimlico Plumbers and Anglian about 600 each, and Everest 65. Anglian (60) and Everest (12) were the only brands with 10 or more active Meta ads. Briggs Amasco, Lindner Prater and Bauder ran none we could find. Paid spend in roofing is mostly on Google search, where an urgent leak sends people straight to the ads.
Key lessons for any roofing business
Publish a labour rate
Aspect and Pimlico Plumbers show what roofing work costs per hour or per visit, and lead the board. You do not need a full price list. A day rate, a call-out charge or a typical range for a ridge repair gives a homeowner a reason to call you rather than the next firm.
Answer every review
Kingdom Coatings replied to all 20 of its latest Trustpilot reviews and holds 4.2 across 1,087. Replies show the next customer that someone reads what is said and deals with problems. Keep each reply short, specific and written by hand.
Check your own homepage
Roofline Design has 940 strong Checkatrade reviews but a homepage FAQ filled with ‘Lorem ipsum’ placeholder text. Read your site on a phone once a quarter. Remove template text, fix dates that disagree and make sure the phone number is visible.
Put a phone number on every page
Briggs Amasco lists no phone number or email on its homepage. Roofing enquiries are often urgent. A leak at night needs a number to ring, not a contact form. Put your number in the header so it shows on every page and every screen size.
Build pages for your towns
Directories took almost every local roofing search we ran; Pimlico Plumbers’ London page was the one exception. A page for each town you cover, with real job photos, the work you did and a rough price, gives search engines something more useful than a directory listing. Start with the three towns that bring you most work.
Steal this playbook
Five moves from this leaderboard, ranked by return on effort.
- Publish a price or rate. Only Aspect and Pimlico Plumbers do it, and they are first and second on the board.
- Reply to every review. Kingdom Coatings replies to all 20 of its latest; Everest replies to none and holds 2.6.
- Put your phone number in the header. Briggs Amasco shows none on its homepage, which loses urgent leak calls.
- Clean up template text and dates. Roofline Design’s ‘Lorem ipsum’ FAQ undercuts 940 good reviews on a page every visitor sees.
- Write one page per town you serve. Eight of the ten brands appeared in none of 10 UK roofing searches, so local pages face weak brand competition.

How we scored
Who is on the board. Ten roofing brands with multi-region presence that a UK homeowner or property manager is likely to meet, chosen for size and reach, not marketing strength. True national consumer roofing brands are scarce: Trustpilot’s UK roofing category (909 firms) and ten live searches surfaced no national household roofer, and the largest national contractor, Avonside, went into administration (roofingtoday.co.uk). So the board spans: an on-demand multi-trade platform with a large roofing team (Aspect, London and the South East), a London multi-trade firm with a roofing team (Pimlico Plumbers), a multi-region roof and wall coatings specialist (Kingdom Coatings, Scotland and North England), a roofline and flat-roof specialist claiming UK-wide cover (Roofline Design, Leeds), two national home improvement firms that sell roofline products and replacement conservatory roofs (Anglian Home Improvements, Everest), a warm conservatory roof brand sold through certified installers (Guardian Warm Roof), a flat roofing system maker working through approved contractors (Bauder), and two national commercial contractors (Briggs Amasco, Lindner Prater) that are B2B. Rooflines (rooflines.co.uk) was rejected because it now sells verandas and lanterns, not roofing work.
When we looked. The board launched with five brands, read on 12 October 2026. Five more were added on 23 October 2026 to make a top ten, read against the same anchors below, with the same ten searches run again on that date. The first five were not re-read, so their figures are as of 12 October.
- Social: which platforms the brand links to from its own site, and whether we could see recent posting and video.
- Website: 2 for a brochure page, 4 with a contact route on mobile, 6 with a page per service and a one-step enquiry, 8 with prices or ranges and registration numbers shown, 10 with online booking or an instant priced quote.
- Email: visible capture only, as we did not subscribe test inboxes for this edition. 2 for a bare newsletter form, 4 for a customer account, 6 for an app, 7 for a newsletter plus an app, up to 10 for a loyalty or app ecosystem with personal offers.
- SEO: ten UK searches for this trade, run through a standard web search API (12 October 2026 for the first five brands, 23 October 2026 for the five added) (not personalised, no location set beyond the town in the query); we counted how many returned the brand’s own site in the top ten results. 0 of 10 scores 2, 1 to 2 scores 4, 3 to 4 scores 6, 5 to 6 scores 8, 7 or more scores 10, plus 1 for a substantial advice library. The searches: roof repairs near me UK; new roof cost UK; fascias and soffits replacement UK; flat roof replacement UK company; commercial roofing contractors UK; roofers Manchester; roofers Leeds; roof repairs London; roofers Glasgow; roofers Birmingham.
- Paid: the Google Ads Transparency Centre (UK, last 30 days, by domain) and the Meta Ad Library (UK, active ads, counted by the brand’s own advertiser page). 2 for nothing found in either, 4 for active in one with fewer than 10 ads, 6 for active in both or 10+ in one, 8 for active in both with 10+ in at least one, 10 for 50+ Google ads and 10+ Meta ads. Paid describes visible activity, not quality. A low paid score is not a fault.
- Reviews: a fixed formula. Rating (4.7+ scores 4, 4.5 to 4.69 scores 3, 4.0 to 4.49 scores 2, 3.5 to 3.99 scores 1) plus volume (10,000+ scores 4, 1,000+ scores 3, 100+ scores 2, 20+ scores 1) plus replies to the latest 20 reviews (half or more scores 2, some scores 1).
- Brand: five checks worth 2 each: the same name and logo everywhere, one clear positioning line, a distinctive asset used for years, three or more independent press mentions in 90 days, and named people or expertise on the site. We award only what we could verify on the day.
These anchors are fixed for this edition, so the ten scores can be read against each other, allowing for the days between the two reading dates. Boards published before October 2026 used scores relative to the other brands on the board, so compare across boards with care.
Common questions
Which roofing brand scores highest on the Whito leaderboard?
Aspect scores highest of the ten UK roofing brands compared, at 6.0 out of 10, ahead of Pimlico Plumbers on 5.3 and Anglian Home Improvements on 5.1. Aspect publishes hourly roofing rates, takes online bookings and scores 8 on reviews from 21,676 Trustpilot reviews. The score measures visible marketing across seven channels, not the quality of roofing work.
Which roofing brand scores lowest?
Bauder scores 2.1, below Briggs Amasco and Lindner Prater on 2.7. All three sell mainly to businesses, so consumer channels such as reviews and email score low. None has Trustpilot reviews, collects email or ran Google or Meta ads we could find in October 2026.
How do roofing brands compare on reviews?
Anglian Home Improvements has the most Trustpilot reviews, 40,838 at 3.9, followed by Aspect on 21,676 at 4.0. Everest has 13,514 at 2.6 with no replies on the latest 20. Kingdom Coatings holds 4.2 from 1,087 with replies on all 20 of its latest, and Roofline Design 9.88 out of 10 from 940 reviews on Checkatrade. Four brands have no Trustpilot reviews.
What can a local roofer copy from these brands?
Publish a rate or price range as Aspect and Pimlico Plumbers do, reply to every review as Kingdom Coatings does, and keep a phone number on every page, which Briggs Amasco does not. Then build a page for each town you cover, because directories filled almost every roofing search we ran.
Why do directories rank above roofing companies?
In our ten UK roofing searches, Checkatrade, MyBuilder, Bark, TrustATrader, Which? Trusted Traders and construction directories filled the results, and only Aspect and Pimlico Plumbers appeared, once each. Directories have a page for every trade and town. A roofer can compete by writing one useful page per town, with real jobs, photos and a rough price.
