Independent UK research publisher
Whito Data
The findings are free. The report is the file.
UK research files. Every name the AI engines gave us, checked against Companies House or the regulator. Cost and price workings with a source on every figure. Each file is a PDF plus the raw CSV, with the collection date printed inside. Nobody can pay to appear, or to be left out.
For agencies, franchise groups, insurers, trade bodies and vendors. Not for a single tradesperson.
The engines already lean on this work. Microsoft’s Copilot report shows Whito research cited 17,400 times across 127 pages in the three months to 28 August 2026. What those citations did and did not send back is a published Whito study.
What arrives
A PDF and the raw CSV data, by email, whichever report you buy.
The PDF
One page on what the data shows and what it is built on. Then the full grids: every answer, every business named, the cross-checks, and anything dissolved or in liquidation flagged with company numbers and dates. The method in full, the exact prompts and collection dates, what was thrown out and why, and the limitations written plainly rather than buried.
The CSV
The file the PDF is built from, one row per data point, so you can check the working or run your own cuts. Sort it, filter it, join it to your own data. For an AI sector report the columns are below; cost and sector files carry the equivalent working for their study.
| Column | What it holds |
|---|---|
| City | One of the six UK cities we ask in |
| Engine | ChatGPT, Gemini or Google AI Mode |
| Question | The exact wording put to the engine |
| Business named | The name exactly as the engine gave it |
| Position | Where it sat in the answer, for example third of five |
| Reason given | What the engine said in its favour, quoted |
| Companies House | Matched, not matched, or ambiguous |
| Company number | Where a match was found |
| Status | Active, dissolved or in liquidation, with the date |
The free electricians sample shows all of this on one town, Coventry: 13 businesses named, 8 verified as active in the area, 4 with no register match, 1 dissolved. Read the free sample.

Each report on sale is its most recent collection, and the collection date is printed inside the file. When we re-run a panel, the new collection replaces the old one here. The answers behind every collection were overwritten as they happened and are archived nowhere else, so nobody can go back and collect them again.
Add a quarterly update so the file does not go stale. For £990 a quarter we run the same scope again, with a new collection date, and email you the fresh PDF and CSV. Choose Buy with quarterly Refresh on any report, or buy the file on its own and add the update later. Cancel any time in the Stripe billing portal, and everything already delivered stays yours.
Already bought a file? Add the quarterly refresh on its own for £990 a quarter: start the refresh here. Pay with the same email you used for your file and we match the refresh to your existing scope. Each new quarter’s PDF and CSV goes to that address, and you can cancel any time in the Stripe billing portal.
Eight reports on sale today. The quarterly recommendation panels are next collected in December 2026, and Refresh subscribers receive each re-run of their file automatically.
Built to order, price on enquiry
Published reports you buy outright. Everything else is scoped first, then run once you order. You get data collected the week you order it, not a file we ran in the spring, and every row carries its collection date.

Fifteen sectors available
Bespoke and scheduled
Your question, our method. Multi-sector work, brand and franchise testing, or a study repeated on a schedule. Scoped and quoted individually.
Scoped individually
Free studies already exist for vets, accountants, solicitors, dentists, estate agents and mortgage advisers, so you can read the findings before you order the file. Sectors with no study yet run from scratch on the same terms.
Tell us the sector, the business or the file. We confirm scope and price with you before anything is run.
Rules that do not bend
The contract
No name is ever added to, softened in, or removed from a dataset for a fee. If a business is in the file, an engine named it or a register we checked holds it. If it fails a register check, the file says so, whoever is paying.
The method is public. Every study says what was asked or collected, on what date, with what wording, how many answers came back, and what was thrown out. The findings stay free because that is the business model: you can check our working before you spend a pound.
If an agency reuses our findings with its clients, attribution is required, measured independently by Whito.
The record compounds. Our dated answer logs run back to July 2026, edition one of the AI Visibility Index alone preserves 728 raw entries checked against Companies House, and a record that starts today starts at zero.
About the businesses named
Being in a file is not an allegation that a business has done anything wrong, and nothing in these reports should be read as one. A register check records what the register said on the date printed in the file. Where a name could not be matched, that is a statement about the search on that date and nothing more. It does not mean a business is unregistered, unauthorised, or trading improperly.
Ratings, company status and authorisation details belong to the regulator or to Companies House rather than to us. We reproduce them with the date we read them, and the regulator stays the source of truth.
If your business is named in a report and you believe a fact is wrong, tell us. We check it against the source, we correct the file, and we tell every buyer who has already received a copy. Right of reply is free and you do not need a solicitor to ask. The route is on our corrections, right of reply and removals page.
Who buys this
Software and platform vendors
You sell to these businesses. The report shows which of them already get recommended and what that visibility rests on.
Groups, franchises and insurers
If you run, franchise or insure more than one of the businesses in a run, you are reading a sample of your own exposure. The grid shows which sites get recommended, which are invisible, and which recommended names cannot be matched to an active company.
Lead platforms and comparison sites
The data shows which directories sit behind the answers. In our free Q3 Index, Checkatrade sat behind 50 of the 60 trade answers.
Trade bodies
Whether members are visible, whether the register checks hold up, and what gets cited about your industry. On a fixed method you can quote.
Investors and analysts
The verification split as a due diligence lens. Which operators get pushed, whether those names are live companies, and how concentrated the market is.
Not for a single tradesperson deciding where to list. If that is you, the free studies, the free directory listing and the free AI check answer your questions, and they stay free.
Questions before you buy
What can I actually buy?
Eight published reports at £1,280 each, bought outright. Sector reports, cost and sector files and bespoke work are built to order and priced on enquiry. Every report is a one-off purchase. The only recurring charge is the quarterly Refresh, which re-runs a file you already bought and can be cancelled any time.
Can we see something first?
Yes. The free electricians sample is one complete town from a real report, with the full method. Every free study on the research hub shows the findings layer of the corresponding file.
How can a report be ready in one working day?
Because the method is fixed and already published. We run it, we do not design it from scratch. Bespoke work takes longer and we say so when we quote.
Is this the same as your free research?
No. The free research gives you the findings and the method. The report gives you the complete dataset: every row, every name, every check, as a CSV you can work with.
Is VAT added?
No VAT is added. Whito Ltd is not VAT registered, so the price shown is the price paid.
Who can use a report once we have bought it?
One company. Share it internally as widely as you like. Not for resale or republication.
What if the report is not what this page says it is?
Tell us and we refund you. We would rather do that than argue.
How does the quarterly Refresh work, and can I add it to a file I already bought?
For £990 a quarter we run the same scope again, with a new collection date, and email you the fresh PDF and CSV. Choose Buy with quarterly Refresh on any report. Already bought a file? Start the refresh here and pay with the same email you used for your file, and we match the refresh to your existing scope. Cancel any time in the Stripe billing portal, and everything already delivered stays yours.
Is it only AI data?
No. AI visibility reports are one family. The same shelf carries the cost and sector files, built to order: the working data behind our software price, marketing cost and sector research. Ask us about any study on the site.
Buy a file, or ask us first.
Scope, licence and invoicing questions come to the contact page. Every file is dated, and mistakes are corrected in public.
