Whito Data licences

Every Whito data file comes with a licence. This page sets out the three licences, what each one lets you do, and what none of them allow. If your use is not covered, tell us what you need and we put the terms in writing before you pay.

Whito Ltd is not VAT registered, so no VAT is added to any price. The Single organisation licence is the licence in section 6 of our terms, which applies to every file bought on this site.

Why raw rows stay inside your organisation

Many Whito files name real UK businesses and record what a public register said about them on a stated date. A row that was true on that date can be out of date a month later. Keeping raw rows inside the buyer’s organisation, unless a contract says otherwise, means those records are not passed around without their date and method.

Why nobody can buy exclusivity

Whito publishes its findings free and sells the working data behind them. If one buyer could pay to keep data away from everyone else, money would be changing what the public can see. That breaks the rules we publish on how we make money, so we do not sell it at any price.

What every licence includes

  • The collection date and method on every file.
  • The same data whoever pays. A licence never changes a finding, a listing or a score.
  • A written correction if we find an error in a file you have bought.

Questions

I bought a file before this page existed. Which licence do I have? The Single organisation licence. Nothing about your file has changed.

Can I move from Single organisation to Professional later? Yes. You pay the difference, which is the file price again. Ask on the contact page and start your message with “Licence”.

Can an agency use a file for several clients? Yes, with the Professional licence: charts and summaries with credit, never the raw rows.
