Entrepreneurs Circle scores highest of the ten UK SME business support brands compared, at 6.6 out of 10 on the Whito leaderboard.

Opinion and analysis. Whito read every brand below by hand, using publicly visible activity only: the first five on 12 October 2026 and the five added to make this a top ten on 22 October 2026, against the same fixed anchors and the same ten searches. Each channel is scored 0 to 10, set out under How we scored, so a score describes what we could see on the day, not the quality of the advice. Brands cannot pay to appear or to change a score. Where a figure is not published, we say so.

Brands that sell growth advice to small businesses should show their own marketing at its sharpest. On the public evidence, most of these ten do not. Six have no Trustpilot reviews or just one, and only two publish a price.

Entrepreneurs Circle leads at 6.6, one of only two brands to show a price, £99 + VAT every four weeks, alongside several ways to sign up. FSB is second on 6.0, with 38 Google ads, at least 64 Meta ads, membership from £195 a year and a reply to all 20 of its latest reviews. ActionCOACH UK is third on 5.4, carried by search.

Be the Business scores lowest at 2.0. It links only LinkedIn, captures no email, has no Trustpilot reviews, ran no Google or Meta ads and appeared in none of 10 UK searches.

What can your business learn?

Who’s leading? Entrepreneurs Circle, with 6.6 out of 10 across seven channels.

(the old thesupperclub.com profile has no reviews) Social scores 2: links to LinkedIn only.

What the channels show

A price on the page leads

The two brands that publish a price lead the board. Entrepreneurs Circle shows £99 + VAT every four weeks and scores 9 on website; FSB shows membership from £195 a year with an online join and scores 10. None of the other eight shows a price, and most ask for a call, an application or a consultation first.

One brand owns search

ActionCOACH UK appeared in 8 of 10 UK searches on 12 October. When we ran the same searches on 22 October, its coach-level sites for Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham, Leeds and London appeared again. None of the other nine brands appeared in any of the ten searches. The other results went to coach directories, press releases and overseas sites.

Reviews are almost absent

FSB replies to all 20 of its latest Trustpilot reviews and holds 4.6 from 748. Entrepreneurs Circle holds 4.5 from 880, Dent Global 4.8 from 178 and ActionCOACH UK 3.5 from 234. The other six have no reviews, a single review or no profile at all. For firms selling trust to business owners, that is a large gap.

Names drift

Helm has just renamed itself from The Supper Club. GM Business Growth Hub appears under three versions of its name, and Dent Global’s YouTube channel runs under Key Person of Influence. Each loses a brand point for it.

Key lessons for any business consultancy or coach

Publish a price

The two brands that show a price are the top two. A monthly fee or a starting price for a programme answers the first question an owner has and filters out enquiries that were never going to buy.

Build a page for each town you coach in

ActionCOACH UK appeared in 8 of 10 searches, largely through coach-level town sites, and nobody else appeared. A local coach with a page for their town, their results and their name competes where national brands are absent.

Collect reviews and reply to them

Six of the ten have no reviews to speak of. FSB replies to all 20 of its latest and scores 7 on reviews. Ask every client at the end of an engagement.

Give owners a reason to leave an email

Entrepreneurs Circle scores 7 on email with free books, trainings and a trial. Business Doctors uses a 10-minute benchmark. Six of the ten capture no email or score only 2 for it.

Keep one name

Use the same name on your website, LinkedIn, YouTube and directory listings. Three brands here lose a brand point for names that drift.

Steal this playbook

Five moves from this leaderboard, ranked by return on effort.

  1. Publish a starting price. The two brands that do are first and second on the board.
  2. Ask every client for a review. Six of the ten have no reviews, a single review or no profile.
  3. Build a page for your town. Only ActionCOACH UK appeared in any of our ten searches.
  4. Offer a useful free tool for an email address. A benchmark or scorecard works better than a bare newsletter link.
  5. Link all your social profiles under one name. Be the Business and Helm link LinkedIn only.

How we scored

Who is on the board. Segment: growth support sold to owner-managed UK SMEs, meaning business coaching franchises, peer advisory boards, growth memberships and SME support bodies, not large management consultancies. Ten brands an SME owner is likely to meet, chosen for relevance and size: Business Doctors (franchise network of business advisers, part of The Uspire Partnership), ActionCOACH UK (business coaching franchise), The Alternative Board UK (franchised peer advisory boards), Vistage UK (CEO peer groups, part of a US-owned organisation), Entrepreneurs Circle (online-first membership community), FSB (the Federation of Small Businesses, a not-for-profit membership body), Be the Business (SME productivity charity), GM Business Growth Hub (Greater Manchester’s business support organisation), Dent Global (founder-led growth programmes, home of Key Person of Influence) and Helm (founders’ membership club, formerly The Supper Club). Shirlaws was considered but shirlaws.com now belongs to an Aberdeen motorcycle dealer. Brands were chosen for relevance and size, not for marketing strength.

When we looked. The board launched with five brands, read on 12 October 2026. Five more were added on 22 October 2026 to make a top ten, read against the same anchors below, with the same ten searches run again on that date. The first five were not re-read, so their figures are as of 12 October. The five added on 22 October 2026 (FSB, Be the Business, GM Business Growth Hub, Dent Global and Helm) had Google ads read on 22 October. Meta Ad Library counts for brands added on 22 October were read on 23 October 2026, after the library was unavailable on 22 October.

  • Social: which platforms the brand links to from its own site, and whether we could see recent posting and video.
  • Website: 2 for a brochure page, 4 with a contact route on mobile, 6 with a page per service and a one-step enquiry, 8 with prices or ranges and registration numbers shown, 10 with online booking or an instant priced quote.
  • Email: visible capture only, as we did not subscribe test inboxes for this edition. 2 for a bare newsletter form, up to 10 for a loyalty or app ecosystem with personal offers.
  • SEO: ten UK searches for this trade, run through a standard web search API (12 October 2026 for the first five brands, 22 October 2026 for the five added; not personalised, no location set beyond the town in the query); we counted how many returned the brand’s own site in the top ten results. 0 of 10 scores 2, 1 to 2 scores 4, 3 to 4 scores 6, 5 to 6 scores 8, 7 or more scores 10, plus 1 for a substantial advice library. The searches: business coach for small business; business growth consultant UK; SME business advisor; peer advisory board UK; business mentor for business owners; business coach London; business coach Manchester; business coach Birmingham; business coach Leeds; business coach Bristol.
  • Paid: the Google Ads Transparency Centre (UK, last 30 days, by domain) and the Meta Ad Library (UK, active ads whose text names the brand, counted by the advertiser page). 2 for nothing found in either, 4 for active in one with fewer than 10 ads, 6 for active in both or 10+ in one, 8 for active in both with 10+ in at least one, 10 for 50+ Google ads and 10+ Meta ads. Paid describes visible activity, not quality. A low paid score is not a fault.
  • Reviews: a fixed formula. Rating (4.7+ scores 4, 4.5 to 4.69 scores 3, 4.0 to 4.49 scores 2, 3.5 to 3.99 scores 1) plus volume (10,000+ scores 4, 1,000+ scores 3, 100+ scores 2, 20+ scores 1) plus replies to the latest 20 reviews (half or more scores 2, some scores 1).
  • Brand: five checks worth 2 each: the same name and logo everywhere, one clear positioning line, a distinctive asset used for years, three or more independent press mentions in 90 days, and named people or expertise on the site.

These anchors are fixed for this edition, so the ten scores can be read against each other, allowing for the ten days between the two reading dates. Boards published before October 2026 used scores relative to the other brands on the board, so compare across boards with care.

Common questions

Which SME business support brand scores highest on the Whito leaderboard?

Entrepreneurs Circle scores highest at 6.6 out of 10, ahead of FSB on 6.0 and ActionCOACH UK on 5.4. It is one of only two brands to publish a price, £99 + VAT every four weeks, and offers the most ways to sign up. The score measures visible marketing, not the quality of the advice.

Which brand scores lowest, and why?

Be the Business scores 2.0. It links only LinkedIn, captures no email, has no Trustpilot reviews, ran no Google ads in 30 days, showed no Meta ads and did not appear in any of 10 UK searches.

How do these brands compare on reviews?

Only four have a meaningful Trustpilot record. FSB holds 4.6 from 748 with replies to all 20 of its latest, Entrepreneurs Circle 4.5 from 880, Dent Global 4.8 from 178 and ActionCOACH UK 3.5 from 234. The other six have no reviews, a single review or no profile.

What can a local business coach copy from these brands?

Publish a starting price, as Entrepreneurs Circle and FSB do. Build a page for your town, as ActionCOACH UK’s coaches do. Ask every client for a review and reply to each one. Offer a useful free tool in exchange for an email address.

Why is ActionCOACH so visible in search?

Its coaches run their own sites on actioncoach.co.uk addresses, such as manchester.actioncoach.co.uk and bristol.actioncoach.co.uk, each written for a town. ActionCOACH UK appeared in 8 of our 10 UK searches on 12 October, these coach sites appeared again in the town searches on 22 October, and none of the other nine brands appeared in any.
