Rentokil has the strongest marketing of the three national UK pest control brands compared, scoring 7.6 out of 10 on the Whito leaderboard. The two highest single-channel scores on the table belong to JG Pest Control, a company founded in 2010.

Opinion and analysis. Every brand below was reviewed manually across seven marketing channels in August 2026, using publicly visible activity only. Scores are relative to the other brands in this comparison. Where a figure is not published, we say so. Nothing here is a comment on the quality of any company’s work, its pricing or its conduct. The scores describe marketing that anyone can see from the outside.

In this trade, marketing is what happens at 2am.

Nobody browses pest control. There is a rat in the kitchen or a wasp nest over the back door, and you ring the first name you trust. So the brands here win not by being clever, but by being findable and provably safe at the moment somebody wants the problem gone today.

Company verdicts

Rentokil, 7.6

The world’s largest pest control company by its own description, with over a century of UK trading and around a thousand frontline specialists here. Rentokil wins the way category giants should: it owns the informational search results, with a reference library for every pest a British household can meet, seasonal guides included, feeding a postcode branch finder and an online booking flow sweetened with a survey discount. The contract model and the myRentokil portal handle retention. Its parent claims over 30,000 UK reviews at 4.6 or better on Trustpilot.

Worth knowing: parent company Rentokil Initial had a bumpy July 2026 with investors after softening a key margin target. The consumer marketing machine is still the strongest on this table.

Fantastic Pest Control, 6.7

The only brand in the set where you can book a pest visit the way you book a taxi: online or in-app, with published package prices from £184 for a two-visit treatment, and a claimed one-hour emergency response with a night surcharge. Retention runs through the £89-a-year Fantastic Club and referral credits, which is the strongest owned-audience machinery here.

The catch is depth. Coverage is strongest inside the M25, and while the parent platform cites over 50,000 Trustpilot reviews rated Excellent, the pest arm itself showed only a few hundred Google reviews at 4.5 when checked in August 2026. Big platform proof, thin service-level proof.

JG Pest Control, 6.3

Founded in 2010 and built almost entirely on two assets: speed and reviews. The emergency landing page is the best in the set, with 24/7 availability, same-day callouts, two phone numbers above the fold, live chat, a coverage checker and a free re-treatment guarantee.

The review engine is remarkable for a business this young. The company states around 34,869 reviews across Trustpilot and Google at 4.6 to 4.8 as of August 2026, and claims to be the highest-rated pest control company on Trustpilot. Beyond that funnel there is not much: no email programme, modest social, a functional brand.

Bottom of the table on the average, top of the table on the two channels that actually convert a panicked customer. That is the whole story of this comparison.

What the channels show

The average flatters heritage

Rentokil finishes first on a seven-channel average that includes brand and email, two channels a century of trading builds for free. Score only the channels a customer touches during an emergency search, website and reviews, and the order inverts: JG 9 and 9, Rentokil 7 and 8.

Reviews are the shelf trust sits on

JG, founded in 2010, competes with a hundred-year-old giant on one asset: tens of thousands of reviews it asked for after every job. In a distress purchase a large recent review count answers the fear faster than any heritage claim.

Published prices are still rare

Only Fantastic publishes package prices. In a trade where the customer has no idea whether the right number is £80 or £800, that is a conversion asset as much as a transparency one. See what UK pest control actually costs for the published rates Whito could find.

Accreditation is under-used

BPCA and NPTA membership is the closest thing this trade has to a public credential, and none of the three brands leans on it hard in consumer-facing marketing. For a small firm that is an opening, not a problem. See what customers can actually check.

What a smaller firm can copy

  • Answer the emergency question above the fold. Phone number, response-time promise, and proof you are safe to let in the house. Those three things, visible without scrolling, beat pages of prose.
  • Build the review request into the job. Ask after every callout, reply to every review, publish the count. The gap between JG and the rest on this channel is a process gap, not a quality gap.
  • Say what the visit costs, or what it starts from. A published callout fee or a “from” price is a trust signal before it is a price.
  • Own your local emergency terms. A maintained Google Business Profile and a genuinely local page, with the town in the title, real photos and a local number, is how small firms beat national call centres. See the free version of all this.
  • Wear your accreditations. BPCA or NPTA membership, checkable, on the page.

Common questions

Which UK pest control company has the best marketing in 2026?

Rentokil, on this comparison, at 7.6 out of 10 across seven channels reviewed in August 2026. It leads on SEO and on the overall average. It does not lead on website or reviews.

Who has the most reviews in UK pest control?

Of the three compared, JG Pest Control states the largest volume: around 34,869 reviews across Trustpilot and Google at 4.6 to 4.8, as of August 2026, and it claims to be the highest-rated pest control company on Trustpilot. Rentokil’s parent claims over 30,000 UK Trustpilot reviews at 4.6 or better. Both figures are the companies’ own.

Why are only three brands compared?

Because three national consumer-facing pest control brands were reviewed in the August 2026 pass. The panel is small and the page says so rather than padding it out. A wider panel is the obvious next edition.

What can a small pest control firm copy from these brands?

The review engine and the published price, in that order. Neither needs scale, a budget or an agency. Both are the channels where the youngest company on this table beats the oldest.

How the scores work

Method. Three national UK pest control brands, reviewed manually in August 2026 across seven channels: social, website, email, SEO, paid, reviews and brand. Only publicly visible activity was used, meaning the brand’s own website and apps, its public social accounts, its public review profiles, and search results anyone can see. No agency data, no traffic estimates, no vendor tools. Each channel is scored out of 10 relative to the other brands in this comparison, and the average of the seven is the leaderboard score.

What the scores are not. They are Whito’s editorial judgement of publicly visible marketing on the dates checked. They are not a measure of service quality, technical competence, pricing fairness or conduct, and nothing here should be read as a claim about any of those.

Company claims stay company claims. Review counts and ratings are reported as the company states them, with the date checked, because Whito did not independently audit them.

Limits. Three brands is a small panel. Marketing changes weekly, so every score is true of August 2026 and no other month. Scores are relative to this panel, so a 5 here is not a 5 against the whole sector.
