Most UK small businesses pay between £3,000 and £6,000 for a professionally built website, with a five-page freelancer brochure site at £1,500 to £3,000 and hidden costs adding 30 to 50% on top, according to Whito’s May 2026 pricing data.

A window cleaner needs the cheapest credible website of any trade, because the site has exactly three jobs: publish prices, prove you are real, and take a sign-up. Paying £3,000 for that is optional. Skipping it entirely is the expensive choice.

On DIY builders, read our exit test first: Wix, Durable, Framer and Hostinger’s AI builder offer no clean export of a finished site, so the cheap monthly fee locks you in. WordPress lets you take everything with you.

The one page that earns its keep

Whatever you spend, the content is the same and mostly free to write. Round prices for the three house types and the first-clean rule. Areas covered with days. Company number and insurance in text, plus FWC membership or a Scottish licence number where they apply. Add-on prices. Three photos of real work. A sign-up form or direct debit link so the decision completes at 9pm without a phone call. In the government’s 2026 survey figures, 78% of UK businesses have a website; the differentiator is whether yours says anything a machine or a neighbour can act on.

What not to pay for

Common questions

How much should a window cleaner pay for a website?

A single well-built page covers a round business. Published 2026 rates run £1,500 to £3,000 for a freelancer brochure site and £3,000 to £6,000 for a professional build, per Whito’s May 2026 research, but a £130 a year self-run WordPress site with prices and proof outperforms an empty £3,000 one.

What should a window cleaner’s website include?

Round prices by house type, the first-clean premium, areas and days, company number and insurance in text, any FWC membership or Scottish licence, add-on prices, real photos and a sign-up route. Clarity beats design.

Are website builders like Wix good for window cleaners?

They are quick to start, but Whito’s July 2026 test found Wix, Durable, Framer and Hostinger’s AI builder allow no clean export of a finished site to another host. WordPress costs about £130 to £160 a year and stays portable.
