Avontus is the only scaffolding-specific vendor in this set publishing a real UK figure, and the startup fee is the part worth noticing. £1,210 up front against £285 every 28 days means the first year costs about £4,900 and the second about £3,700. A firm comparing monthly figures alone will get that wrong.
The general field management apps

Re-flow’s single unified plan is unusual and worth flagging as a genuine difference. Most of this market prices by tier, which means the number you compare on is rarely the number you end up paying.
The comparison that actually matters
A five-person scaffolding firm has two shapes of choice.
- Scaffold inventory and design: Avontus at roughly £3,700 a year after the first, or SMART Scaffolder at a price you cannot see without a sales call.
- Job and workforce management: Re-flow at £36.50 a user, so about £2,190 a year for five, or Joblogic Standard at £45 a user, about £2,700 a year for five.
Those solve different problems. Inventory tracking answers where is my kit and what is on hire. Field management answers who is on which job and did the inspection get recorded. A firm losing money on unreturned kit needs the first. A firm losing money on scheduling and paperwork needs the second. Buying both at once, before you know which is costing you, is the expensive mistake.
What to ask before you sign
- Price in pounds, per user or per company, and does it include VAT?
- Is there a startup, implementation or training fee, stated separately?
- Minimum term, and what does the price do at renewal?
- Does it record statutory inspections under regulations 12 and 13 in a form you could hand to an inspector or a client?
- Can you export inventory, job history and inspection records if you leave, and at what cost?
- Does it run on the devices your squads actually carry, and does it work with no signal on site?
Question four is the one worth pressing. Inspection records are the paperwork this trade is legally required to produce and commercially unable to sell, and any system that turns them into something a client can be shown is doing two jobs at once.
Question six is the practical one. A system that needs a signal is useless behind a building on a wet Tuesday.
The cheaper starting point
Whito’s price check of 50 tools on 2 July 2026 put a credible sole trader software stack at about £18 a month, against roughly £2,635 a year including VAT, or £44 per person per month, for a five person service business.
A one-van firm does not need scaffold inventory software. It needs an accurate list of what is on hire and where. Buy the system when the cost of not knowing exceeds the subscription, and not because a competitor has one.

Do I need inventory software or job software?
Work out which is costing you more first. Unreturned kit and untracked hire periods point to inventory. Missed inspections, scheduling chaos and slow invoicing point to field management. Very few five-person firms need both in the same year.
