Zite Review (2026): AI Marketing Shortcut or Structured Growth Tool?
Some links in this article are commission-based, meaning we may earn a small fee if you purchase through them, at no extra cost to you. Full disclosure.
Zite is the rare AI app builder aimed at businesses rather than developers. It launched in April 2025 from the team behind Fillout, and in March 2026 the whole company renamed itself around it. This review covers what it verifiably does, what it costs, and where it fits for a UK small business.
STARTNot for you yet. A new business needs a website and a booking link, not a custom app. Spend nothing here until the basics earn.
BUILDThis is where Zite gets interesting. Internal tools, a job tracker, a quote calculator, a simple client portal, on the free tier, with unlimited users and no per-seat fees.
SCALEA serious alternative to agency-built internal tools and portals. SOC 2 credentials and SSO at £45-a-month money is unusual. Watch the AI credit meter, it is the real bill.
Zite: the verified facts
What it is
An AI app builder. Describe the tool you need and it builds a working app with a database, logins and hosting included. The generated logic stays visually editable, so you are not stuck with code you cannot read.
Who makes it
Restly Inc, the team behind the form builder Fillout. The company renamed itself Zite in March 2026, with Fillout continuing as a product under the Zite umbrella.
Launched
April 2025, so it is a young product on a proven company’s infrastructure.
Built in
Database (spreadsheet-style, currency and attachment fields included), logins via magic link, Google or SSO, roles and permissions, workflows, webhooks, custom domains.
Security
SOC 2 Type II, audit logs, 256-bit encryption. Customers named on its site include a US county election office and Domino’s France.
Verified against zite.com on 2 July 2026.
Zite pricing (checked 2 July 2026)
Earlier versions of this review noted no public pricing. That has changed, Zite now publishes plans, all in US dollars:

Billed in dollars, so UK cards add a conversion fee. Monthly billing costs more than the annual figures shown.
The genuinely unusual part is that every plan, including free, allows unlimited users. Most rivals in this category meter seats, which is exactly where internal tools get expensive.
The catch: AI credits
Zite meters the AI building work in credits, and this is the recurring complaint in user discussions: chatting with the builder and planning consume the same credits as generating the app, allocations can disappear quickly during heavy building, and estimating how many credits a project needs is hard. Treat the monthly plan price as the floor, not the ceiling, and build in focused sessions rather than long exploratory chats.
How it compares
Against code-generating tools like Lovable and Bolt, Zite is fully managed: no hosting to arrange, no generated codebase to debug, and the logic stays editable by non-developers. Against database-app builders like Glide and Softr, Zite leads with AI generation and flat pricing, where those platforms typically charge per user. The trade-off in both directions is maturity, Zite is barely a year old, with thinner documentation and a smaller template library than the established players.
The Whito view. For a UK small business, Zite’s free tier is a real way to replace a messy shared spreadsheet with a proper internal tool, at no cost and with the whole team logged in. That is a rare, honest free tier. The credit model is the thing to watch, and we would not yet build anything customer-critical on a product this young. Useful now, promising later.
Zite: common questions
What is Zite in plain English?
A tool that turns a written description into a working business app, with the database, logins and hosting handled for you. Think job trackers, client portals and internal dashboards, not public websites.
Is Zite actually free?
The free plan is real: unlimited users, 5,000 database records and 50 AI building credits a month. The credits are the constraint, building and revising apps consumes them quickly, which is how Zite expects to move you to Pro at $15 a month billed annually.
Is Zite the same company as Fillout?
Yes. The company behind the Fillout form builder renamed itself Zite in March 2026. Fillout continues as its own product, and the two share infrastructure, including the database layer.
Zite or Lovable for a small business?
Zite for internal business tools you want managed end to end. Lovable and similar code generators suit prototypes and customer-facing apps, but you inherit hosting and debugging. If nobody on the team codes, Zite is the safer shape.
Is Zite safe for business data?
Its credentials are unusually strong for a young product: SOC 2 Type II, audit logs, encryption at rest, SSO on offer, and government customers on the books. Standard sense still applies, do not put payroll-grade data in any one-year-old platform without a export routine.
