Read: 27 October 2026. 128 marketing prices from 47 UK providers, first read by Whito in June 2026, read again on their own pages. Plus 39 agency entry prices first read on 29 September 2026. This page names every provider whose price moved and links to the page we read.

A price on a web page has a date, even when the page does not show one. Whito’s cost pages lean on prices we read in June. So we went back to every one of them, on one day, to see how many still hold.

Most do. Of the 108 June prices we could compare like for like, 93 were exactly the same four months later. 11 had gone up and 4 had been taken off the page. Not one had gone down.

What we read again

Two sets of prices, both collected by Whito from providers’ own websites:

  • The June file: 128 prices from 47 UK web design, SEO, PPC and social media providers, read in June 2026 for our UK marketing prices study. The June file records the month, not the day, of each read.
  • The September file: the entry monthly price of 39 UK agencies, read on 29 September 2026 for our study of agency contract terms.

On 27 October 2026 we opened every one of those pages again and gave each price one of these labels:

  • Unchanged: the same package shows the same price.
  • Increased or decreased: the same package shows a different price.
  • Taken off the page: the page or its replacement no longer shows a price for that package.
  • Line-up changed: the provider has rebuilt its packages, so there is no like-for-like package to compare.
  • Unclear: we could not match the package with confidence, the page contradicts itself, or it did not show prices when we read it.

Every price we label as changed was checked again in a normal web browser on the day. A random sample of the unchanged prices was also read a second time, and all of them matched.

So 93 of 108 comparable prices held, which is 86% (95% confidence interval 78% to 91%). Every change we could confirm went one way: up, or off the page.

The September file is only four weeks old. Of its 39 entry prices, 35 were unchanged and 4 were unclear. We found no confirmed change.

Where the changes are

The changes are not spread evenly. All 15 confirmed changes in the June file come from 5 of the 47 providers, and one provider, Search Hog, accounts for 7 of the 11 increases.

The Social Bay, Premium Website£2,000No price shown. The old pricing address now goes to a page without prices.

The 11 increases ranged from 8% to 77%. The middle one was 21%. One more provider, One PPC, rebuilt its package line-up, so those three prices sit in “line-up changed” rather than being counted as rises.

What this did to the typical price: for the 38 SEO prices we could compare like for like, the middle monthly price moved from £799.50 in June to £837.50 in October.

Why the unclear prices matter

17 June prices are labelled unclear, and they are a finding in their own right. For 8 of them, the provider reshaped its packages or changed what the fee covers, so a buyer comparing an old quote with today’s page cannot tell what changed. 3 sit on 2 pages that contradict themselves: one shows one set of prices on its package cards and a higher set in its comparison table. For the other 6, the page showed no prices at all when we read it in a normal browser, so we did not count them either way. We list every one, with the reason, in the data file.

Price-page half-life

We call this the price-page half-life: how long a price published on a provider’s own page stays true. For UK marketing services in 2026, our first reading is that most published prices last at least four months, that the ones that move tend to move up, and that a small number of providers do most of the moving. One reading cannot give a half-life in months yet. We will read the same pages again in January 2027, and the October call-out prices of 493 UK trades firms at the same time.

What this does not prove

  • These are prices that providers publish, not what customers pay. A quote can differ from a page.
  • The June file was built from providers that publish prices. Most UK agencies do not, so this says nothing about them.
  • The June file records the month of each read, not the day, so the gap is between four and five months.
  • One re-read gives one snapshot. A price could have gone up and back down in between.
  • Our first reads used an automated page reader. Every change on this page was then checked in a normal browser. Prices we label unchanged rest on the reader plus a second-read sample.

What to do with this

If a quote or a price list is more than a few months old, check the page again before you sign. If a provider has renamed its packages since your last quote, ask them to say in writing which new package matches your old one, and what it costs. And when a page says “from”, ask for the price of the package you actually need.

The June prices themselves are in our UK marketing prices study, and agency contract terms are in our study of the fees UK agencies don’t quote.
