Accessibility

Last updated: 28 September 2026

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA on whito.co.uk. We have not been certified against the standard and we do not claim to be. This page says what we have checked, what still falls short, and how to tell us about a problem.

Contact

If something on the site does not work for you, or you need a page or a file in a different format, email hello@whito.co.uk. We aim to reply within two working days. Tell us the page address and what went wrong, and we will fix it or send you the content another way.

How to use the site

  • Main navigation. The menu at the top of every page links to research, the directory, Whito Data and industry guides. On small screens it sits behind the menu button.
  • Skip to content. Press Tab once on any page and a “Skip to content” link appears. Press Enter to jump past the menu to the main content.
  • Cookie preferences. The cookie banner can be answered with the keyboard. After that, use the Cookie preferences link in the footer, or the preferences button in the bottom corner, to change your choice at any time.

What we checked on 28 September 2026

  • The cookie banner: Reject, Accept and Customise are real buttons, reachable by keyboard in a logical order, focus is not trapped, and the button text meets the AA contrast ratio.
  • Page language, one main heading per page, and alternative text on images across the templates we tested.
  • Forms: the contact form, the enquiry form, the directory claim form, the newsletter sign-up and the Visibility Check. Every visible field has a label, required fields are marked, and the maths question on the contact form has been removed.

Known issues

We list remaining issues here rather than hide them.

  • Older articles. Some articles published before September 2026 carry their own colours and layouts. A few of those may have text below the AA contrast ratio or tables without header cells. We fix them as we find them.
  • Research files. We have not yet checked the PDF reports sold on Whito Data for screen reader tagging. Every report comes with its data as a CSV file, which opens in any spreadsheet. If you need a report in another format, email us.
  • Checkout. Payments are taken on Stripe’s own checkout pages. We cannot change those pages, so if you have trouble paying, email us and we will arrange another way.
  • Images of charts. Where an older research post shows a chart as an image, we have not yet checked every one for a full text equivalent. Tell us if you need the figures behind a chart and we will send them.
