Fantastic Pest Control scores highest of the ten UK pest control brands compared, at 6.6 out of 10 on the Whito leaderboard.

Opinion and analysis. Whito read every brand below by hand on 22 October 2026, using publicly visible activity only, against fixed anchors and ten UK searches. Each channel is scored 0 to 10, set out under How we scored, so a score describes what we could see on the day, not the quality of the pest control. Brands cannot pay to appear or to change a score. Where a figure is not published, we say so. Nothing here is a comment on any company’s pricing or conduct.

In this trade, marketing is what happens at 2am. Nobody browses pest control. There is a rat in the kitchen or a wasp nest over the back door, and you ring the first name you trust.

Fantastic Pest Control scores 6.6, ahead of Rentokil on 6.1 and Aspect on 5.7. Fantastic is the only one of the ten with package prices, online booking, an app and a members’ club, and its pest pages appeared in 5 of 10 UK searches. Rentokil holds the best reviews score, 10, but its homepage was down for maintenance on the day we looked, so its website is scored on the pages that loaded.

Pest Solutions scores lowest at 3.6. It shows no prices, captures no email, has 26 Trustpilot reviews and appeared in none of 10 UK searches. Six of the ten capture no email at all.

What can your business learn?

Who’s leading? Fantastic Pest Control, with 6.6 out of 10 across seven channels.

Why are they leading? Its highest-scoring channels are Website (10/10) and SEO (9/10).

Company verdicts

Fantastic Pest Control, 6.6

Fantastic Pest Control scores 6.6, the highest of the ten. It is the only brand here where you can book a pest visit like a taxi: online, with package prices of £184, £264 and £348 on the page, so its website scores 10. Email scores 8, the best on the board, for the GoFantastic app and the Fantastic Club, which offers £30 off a service. SEO scores 9: its pest pages, all on the parent fantasticservices.com site, appeared in 5 of 10 UK searches, and its cost guides add a point. Reviews score 7 from 4.6 on 54,137 reviews on the parent Fantastic Services profile, held back by no replies on the latest 20. Paid scores 4, with 5 Google ads from the pest site.

Rentokil, 6.1

Rentokil scores 6.1. Reviews score 10, the only top reviews score here: 4.7 from 11,695 Trustpilot reviews, with replies to 14 of the latest 20. SEO scores 7: rentokil.co.uk appeared in 4 of 10 UK searches, including its own pages for London, Leeds and Bristol, and its pest guides add a point. Its homepage was down for maintenance on 22 October 2026 and its prices and survey booking pages returned errors, so its website scores 6 on the pest guide pages that did load. Email scores 4 for the myRentokil customer portal. Paid scores 8 with about 200 Google ads and 1 Meta ad from its Rentokil Property Care page.

Aspect, 5.7

Aspect scores 5.7. Its website scores 10 for online booking with set prices on its pricing pages. Reviews score 7 from 4.0 on 21,853 Trustpilot reviews, with a reply to 1 of the latest 20. SEO scores 5: aspect.co.uk appeared for ‘pest control London’, and a blog adds a point. Paid scores 6 with about 900 Google ads. Brand scores 4 for one name and a clear line, ‘No.1 for Maintenance Services’. Aspect is a multi-trade maintenance firm, so pest control is one service among many.

Pest Expert, 5.1

Pest Expert scores 5.1. It sells pest control products for people who want to treat the problem themselves, so its website scores 10 for an online shop with prices on the homepage. Reviews score 7 from 4.8 on 6,785 Trustpilot reviews, held back by no replies on the latest 20. Paid scores 6 with 15 Google ads. Email scores 4 for a newsletter sign-up and a customer login. pest-expert.com appeared in none of 10 UK searches, though a pest advice blog earns a point.

JG Pest Control, 4.9

JG Pest Control scores 4.9. Reviews score 8 from 4.7 on 28,429 Trustpilot reviews, the second largest count here, though none of the latest 20 has a reply. Its website scores 7 for a prices page, from £239.99 plus VAT for a one-bed flat, and RSPH (BPCA) certified technicians, with no registration number shown. Paid scores 6 with about 2,000 Google ads, the most on the board, and no Meta ads. Email scores 0, with contact forms only, and jgpestcontrol.co.uk appeared in none of 10 UK searches.

NBC Environment, 4.7

NBC Environment scores 4.7. SEO scores 7, level with Rentokil: nbcenvironment.co.uk appeared in 4 of 10 UK searches, including ‘pest control cost UK’ and its own pages for Birmingham, Leeds and Bristol, and an articles library adds a point. Reviews score 6 from 4.3 on 397 Trustpilot reviews, with replies to 16 of the latest 20. Paid scores 6 with 45 Google ads. Email scores 0, and prices are shown only for disinfection.

Cleankill, 4.3

Cleankill scores 4.3, level with Pest UK. Brand scores 6, among the highest here, for one name, a clear line, ‘Fast. Effective award winning pest control’, and a team page naming director Paul Bates. Reviews score 7 from 4.8 on 98 Trustpilot reviews, with replies to 16 of the latest 20. Social scores 6 for four platforms. No Google ads were found, so paid scores 2, and email scores 0.

Pest UK, 4.3

Pest UK scores 4.3, level with Cleankill. Brand scores 6: one name, a clear line calling itself ‘the longest serving privately owned independent pest control company in the UK’, and a named founder, Alec Minter, in 1985. Paid scores 6 with about 200 Google ads. Reviews score 5 from 4.6 on 948 Trustpilot reviews, held back by no replies on the latest 20. Email scores 0 and pestuk.com appeared in none of 10 UK searches.

Safeguard Pest Control, 3.9

Safeguard Pest Control scores 3.9. Paid scores 6 with 65 Google ads. Reviews score 6 from 4.7 on 270 Trustpilot reviews, with no replies on the latest 20. Its website scores 6 for a page per service and an enquiry route, with no prices. Email scores 0, brand 2 for a consistent name only, and safeguardpestcontrol.co.uk appeared in none of 10 UK searches.

Pest Solutions, 3.6

Pest Solutions scores 3.6, the lowest of the ten. Brand scores 6 for one name, a clear line, ‘The Pest Control Professionals’, and a named senior team. Everything a customer meets first is thin: no prices, no email capture, 26 Trustpilot reviews at 4.2 with no replies on the latest 20, and no appearance in any of 10 UK searches. Paid scores 4 with 7 Google ads.

What the channels show

Reviews are the shelf trust sits on

Rentokil, JG Pest Control and Fantastic hold 11,695, 28,429 and 54,137 Trustpilot reviews between them. In a distress purchase a large, recent review count answers the fear faster than any heritage claim. The reply habit splits them: Rentokil answers 14 of its latest 20, Fantastic and JG none.

Published prices are still rare

Only Fantastic, JG Pest Control, Aspect and the product seller Pest Expert show a price a customer can use. In a trade where the customer has no idea whether the right number is £80 or £800, a price is a conversion asset as much as a transparency one. See what UK pest control actually costs.

Search goes to three names and the directories

Fantastic appeared in 5 of 10 UK searches, Rentokil and NBC Environment in 4 each, Aspect in 1. The other six appeared in none. Checkatrade filled most of the emergency results and council pages and US firms filled the city ones.

Email is the empty channel

Six of the ten capture no email at all. Pest work comes back every summer with wasps and every autumn with mice, so a reminder list is the cheapest repeat booking in the trade.

Key lessons for any pest control business

Answer the emergency question above the fold

Phone number, response-time promise, and proof you are safe to let in the house. Those three things, visible without scrolling, beat pages of prose.

Build the review request into the job

JG Pest Control has 28,429 Trustpilot reviews. That is a process, asked after every callout, not a marketing budget.

Say what the visit costs, or what it starts from

Fantastic shows £184 for a package and JG from £239.99 plus VAT. A “from” price is a trust signal before it is a price.

Own your town page

Rentokil and NBC Environment appeared for Leeds and Bristol with a page for each city. A genuinely local page, with the town in the title, real photos and a local number, is how a small firm competes there. See the free version of all this.

Wear your accreditations

BPCA or NPTA membership is the closest thing this trade has to a public credential. Cleankill, Pest Solutions and Pest UK show it; none of the ten shows a membership number a customer can check. See what customers can actually check.

Steal this playbook

Five moves from this leaderboard, ranked by return on effort.

  1. Reply to your latest 20 reviews. Rentokil answers 14 of its latest 20 and is the only brand to score 10 on reviews.
  2. Publish a starting price. Only four of the ten show a price a customer can use.
  3. Write one page per town you serve. Six of the ten appeared in none of 10 UK searches.
  4. Collect an email after every job. Six of the ten capture none; Fantastic scores 8 with an app and a members’ club.
  5. Put your BPCA or NPTA membership on the page. It is checkable, and most of the ten do not lean on it.

The evidence behind the scores

Fantastic Pest Control

Read 22 October 2026 (Meta read 23 October 2026).

  • Social 6: Links to Facebook, X, Pinterest, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok, seven platforms in all; recent posting and video not checked.
  • Website 10: Online booking with package prices on the page (£184, £264 and £348) and a prices page.
  • Email 8: The GoFantastic app (App Store and Google Play) plus the Fantastic Club membership offering £30 off a service.
  • SEO 9: 5 of 10 UK web searches returned Fantastic’s pest control pages, all on the parent fantasticservices.com site (’emergency pest control near me UK’, ‘pest control cost UK’, ‘wasp nest removal cost UK’, ‘rat removal service UK’ and ‘pest control London’); fantasticpestcontrol.co.uk itself appeared in none. Plus credit for pest cost guides and a blog.

How we scored

Who is on the board. Ten UK pest control brands a household or business is likely to meet when it has a pest problem: Rentokil (the world’s largest pest control company, by its own description), Fantastic Pest Control (the pest arm of the Fantastic Services home services platform, strongest in London), JG Pest Control (national pest control firm founded in 2010), Aspect (London and South East maintenance firm with a pest control service), NBC Environment (national pest control company serving homes and businesses), Cleankill (pest control firm in London and the South East), Safeguard Pest Control (national pest control company), Pest Solutions (national pest control company), Pest UK (independent pest control company founded in 1985) and Pest Expert (UK maker and seller of pest control products for home use). Chosen for relevance and size, not marketing strength.

When we looked. All ten brands were read on 22 October 2026, against the fixed anchors below, with the ten searches run on the same day. This board was first published with scores relative to the other brands on it. On 22 October 2026 it was rescored on Whito’s fixed anchors and expanded to ten brands, so scores are not comparable with the earlier edition. Meta Ad Library counts were read on 23 October 2026, after the library was unavailable on 22 October. Rentokil’s homepage showed a maintenance page on 22 October 2026 and its prices and survey booking pages returned connection errors, so its social and website scores rest on the pages that loaded; we will re-read it when the site is back.

  • Social: which platforms the brand links to from its own site, and whether we could see recent posting and video.
  • Website: 2 for a brochure page, 4 with a contact route on mobile, 6 with a page per service and a one-step enquiry, 8 with prices or ranges and registration numbers shown, 10 with online booking, an online checkout or an instant priced quote.
  • Email: visible capture only, as we did not subscribe test inboxes for this edition. 2 for a bare newsletter form, 4 for a customer account, 6 for an app, 7 for a newsletter plus an app, up to 10 for a loyalty or app ecosystem with personal offers.
  • SEO: ten UK searches for this sector, run through a standard web search API (22 October 2026; not personalised, no location set beyond the town in the query); we counted how many returned the brand’s own site in the top ten results. 0 of 10 scores 2, 1 to 2 scores 4, 3 to 4 scores 6, 5 to 6 scores 8, 7 or more scores 10, plus 1 for a substantial advice library. The searches: emergency pest control near me UK; pest control cost UK; wasp nest removal cost UK; rat removal service UK; how to get rid of mice in house UK; pest control London; pest control Manchester; pest control Birmingham; pest control Leeds; pest control Bristol.
  • Paid: the Google Ads Transparency Centre (UK, last 30 days, by domain) and the Meta Ad Library (UK, active ads, counted by the advertiser page). 2 for nothing found in either, 4 for active in one with fewer than 10 ads, 6 for active in both or 10+ in one, 8 for active in both with 10+ in at least one, 10 for 50+ Google ads and 10+ Meta ads. Paid describes visible activity, not quality. A low paid score is not a fault.
  • Reviews: a fixed formula. Rating (4.7+ scores 4, 4.5 to 4.69 scores 3, 4.0 to 4.49 scores 2, 3.5 to 3.99 scores 1) plus volume (10,000+ scores 4, 1,000+ scores 3, 100+ scores 2, 20+ scores 1) plus replies to the latest 20 reviews (half or more scores 2, some scores 1). Where Trustpilot sends a brand’s address to a parent company profile, we used that profile and say so.
  • Brand: five checks worth 2 each: the same name and logo everywhere, one clear positioning line, a distinctive asset used for years, three or more independent press mentions in 90 days, and named people or expertise on the site. We award only what we could verify on the day.

These anchors are fixed for this edition, so the ten scores can be read against each other. Boards published before October 2026 used scores relative to the other brands on the board, so compare across boards with care.

Common questions

Which UK pest control company has the best marketing in 2026?

Fantastic Pest Control, on this comparison, at 6.6 out of 10 across seven channels read on 22 October 2026, ahead of Rentokil on 6.1 and Aspect on 5.7. It is the only brand with package prices, online booking, an app and a members’ club, and its pest pages appeared in 5 of 10 UK searches.

Which pest control brand scores lowest, and why?

Pest Solutions scores 3.6. It shows no prices, captures no email, has 26 Trustpilot reviews at 4.2 with no replies on the latest 20, and appeared in none of 10 UK searches. Its brand score of 6 is among the best here.

Who has the most reviews in UK pest control?

Of the ten compared, Fantastic Pest Control sits on the largest profile, 54,137 Trustpilot reviews at 4.6, but that is the parent Fantastic Services profile. JG Pest Control has 28,429 at 4.7, Aspect 21,853 at 4.0 and Rentokil 11,695 at 4.7. Rentokil replies to 14 of its latest 20; Fantastic and JG reply to none.

What can a small pest control firm copy from these brands?

The review engine and the published price, in that order. Neither needs scale, a budget or an agency. Then a page for each town you serve, since six of the ten appeared in none of 10 UK searches, and an email after every job, since six of the ten capture none.

Why is Rentokil not top?

Rentokil scores 10 on reviews and 7 on SEO, the joint best search score after Fantastic. Its homepage was down for maintenance on 22 October 2026 and its prices and booking pages returned errors, so its website scored 6 on the pages that loaded. Its email scores 4 for a customer portal only.
