Wren Kitchens scores highest of the ten UK kitchen and bathroom brands compared, at 6.7 out of 10 on the Whito leaderboard.
Opinion and analysis. Whito read every brand below by hand on 22 October 2026, using publicly visible activity only, against fixed anchors and ten UK searches. Each channel is scored 0 to 10, set out under How we scored, so a score describes what we could see on the day, not the quality of the kitchen or bathroom. Brands cannot pay to appear or to change a score. Where a figure is not published, we say so.
The scores are tightly bunched. Every one of the ten lets you book a design appointment or buy online, so all ten score 10 for website. The gaps open on email and search, where most of the ten do little.
Wren Kitchens scores 6.7, ahead of Magnet on 6.6 and IKEA on 6.3. Five brands sit level on 6.0: Benchmarx, Better Bathrooms, DIY Kitchens, Howdens and Victorian Plumbing. Magnet wins search, appearing in 4 of 10 UK searches through its showroom pages.
Ripples scores lowest at 5.3, 1.4 behind the leader. It has 138 Trustpilot reviews and appeared in none of 10 UK searches.

What the channels show
Booking is standard, so it no longer separates
All ten let a customer book a design appointment or buy online and score 10 for website. Most show a price on the page we read. The board is decided elsewhere.
Reviews scale with model, not effort
Victorian Plumbing has 450,322 Trustpilot reviews and Wren 103,730, because online sellers ask every buyer. Benchmarx, DIY Kitchens and Wickes reply to 19 of their latest 20; Victorian Plumbing and IKEA reply to none.
Finance framing is the sector’s quiet weapon
Magnet shows £23 a month next to £1,932. Wren, Wickes, IKEA, Benchmarx and Better Bathrooms all show finance. A monthly number makes a five-figure kitchen feel possible.
Search goes to showroom pages and publishers
Magnet appeared in 4 of 10 UK searches with a page per showroom, and Wren in 2 with showroom opening posts. Cost searches went to publishers, and local showroom searches also went to Neptune, Harvey Jones and Dream Doors, which are not on this board.
Key lessons for any kitchen or bathroom business
Commit to a price position
Better Bathrooms leads with ‘Better Prices’, Ripples with luxury design. Pick one and say it.
Put a monthly number next to the big number
Magnet shows £23 a month beside £1,932. A small fitter offering finance can do the same.
Build a page for every showroom
Magnet appeared for four cities with its showroom pages. One page per town you work in, with photos of local jobs, is how a small firm competes.
Photograph every finished job
Every brand here sells with pictures. Your own finished kitchens beat stock images.
Chase the review while the dust settles
Benchmarx replies to 19 of its latest 20 and holds 4.8. Ask the day the fitters leave.
Steal this playbook
Five moves from this leaderboard, ranked by return on effort.
- Reply to your latest 20 reviews. Benchmarx, DIY Kitchens and Wickes answer 19 of 20.
- Show a from price and a monthly price. Magnet shows both on its homepage.
- Write a page per showroom or town. Seven of the ten appeared in none of 10 UK searches.
- Collect an email at the design visit. Howdens captures none from homeowners; IKEA scores 7 with its loyalty scheme.
- Write the cost page. Victorian Plumbing appeared for ‘bathroom installation cost UK’ with a plain guide.
The evidence behind the scores

How we scored
Who is on the board. Ten UK kitchen and bathroom brands a homeowner is likely to meet when replacing a kitchen or bathroom: Wren Kitchens (the largest UK kitchen retailer by its own description), Magnet (fitted kitchen specialist), Howdens (trade kitchen supplier), Wickes (home improvement retailer with kitchens and bathrooms), Victorian Plumbing (online bathroom retailer, now owner of Victoria Plum), Benchmarx (kitchen supplier with 120+ branches), Better Bathrooms (online bathroom retailer), DIY Kitchens (online kitchen retailer), IKEA (furniture retailer with fitted kitchens) and Ripples (luxury bathroom designer with showrooms). Chosen for relevance and size, not marketing strength.
When we looked. All ten brands were read on 22 October 2026, against the fixed anchors below, with the ten searches run on the same day. This board was first published with scores relative to the other brands on it. On 22 October 2026 it was rescored on Whito’s fixed anchors and expanded to ten brands, so scores are not comparable with the earlier edition. Meta Ad Library counts were read on 23 October 2026, after the library was unavailable on 22 October. The five added brands were chosen before the searches were run. Three first picks could not be scored and were replaced after the searches: B&Q (its site showed a human verification page), Bathstore (its site did not load) and Victoria Plum (its site now redirects to Victorian Plumbing). Their replacements, IKEA, Better Bathrooms and DIY Kitchens, appeared in none of the ten searches.
- Social: which platforms the brand links to from its own site, and whether we could see recent posting and video.
- Website: 2 for a brochure page, 4 with a contact route on mobile, 6 with a page per service and a one-step enquiry, 8 with prices or ranges and registration numbers shown, 10 with online booking, an online checkout or an instant priced quote.
- Email: visible capture only, as we did not subscribe test inboxes for this edition. 2 for a bare newsletter form, 4 for a customer account, 6 for an app, 7 for a newsletter plus an app, up to 10 for a loyalty or app ecosystem with personal offers.
- SEO: ten UK searches for this sector, run through a standard web search API (22 October 2026; not personalised, no location set beyond the town in the query); we counted how many returned the brand’s own site in the top ten results. 0 of 10 scores 2, 1 to 2 scores 4, 3 to 4 scores 6, 5 to 6 scores 8, 7 or more scores 10, plus 1 for a substantial advice library. The searches: kitchen fitters near me UK; new kitchen cost UK; bathroom installation cost UK; fitted kitchens UK; bathroom showroom near me UK; kitchen showroom London; kitchen showroom Manchester; kitchen showroom Birmingham; kitchen showroom Leeds; kitchen showroom Bristol.
- Paid: the Google Ads Transparency Centre (UK, last 30 days, by domain) and the Meta Ad Library (UK, active ads, counted by the advertiser page). 2 for nothing found in either, 4 for active in one with fewer than 10 ads, 6 for active in both or 10+ in one, 8 for active in both with 10+ in at least one, 10 for 50+ Google ads and 10+ Meta ads. Meta Ad Library counts were read on 23 October 2026, after the library was unavailable on 22 October. Paid describes visible activity, not quality. A low paid score is not a fault.
- Reviews: a fixed formula. Rating (4.7+ scores 4, 4.5 to 4.69 scores 3, 4.0 to 4.49 scores 2, 3.5 to 3.99 scores 1) plus volume (10,000+ scores 4, 1,000+ scores 3, 100+ scores 2, 20+ scores 1) plus replies to the latest 20 reviews (half or more scores 2, some scores 1). Where Trustpilot sends a brand’s address to a parent company profile, we used that profile and say so.
- Brand: five checks worth 2 each: the same name and logo everywhere, one clear positioning line, a distinctive asset used for years, three or more independent press mentions in 90 days, and named people or expertise on the site. We award only what we could verify on the day.
These anchors are fixed for this edition, so the ten scores can be read against each other. Boards published before October 2026 used scores relative to the other brands on the board, so compare across boards with care.
Common questions
Which UK kitchen or bathroom brand has the best marketing in 2026?
Wren Kitchens, on this board, at 6.7 out of 10, just ahead of Magnet on 6.6 and IKEA on 6.3. Wren shows prices from £499, books design appointments online and holds 4.5 from 103,730 Trustpilot reviews.
Why are the scores so close?
All ten let customers book a design appointment or buy online, so all ten score 10 for website. The differences come from email, search and reviews, where the ten vary from 0 to 7, 2 to 7 and 4 to 9.
Who has the most reviews?
Victorian Plumbing, with 450,322 Trustpilot reviews at 4.5, followed by Wren on 103,730 and Howdens on 84,059. Benchmarx has the highest rating, 4.8 from 2,844. Victorian Plumbing and IKEA reply to none of their latest 20.
Which brand scores lowest, and why?
Ripples scores 5.3. It books design consultations online and replies to 17 of its latest 20 reviews, but has 138 Trustpilot reviews, links three social platforms, offers only a sign-up for email and appeared in none of 10 UK searches.
What can a local kitchen or bathroom fitter copy from these brands?
Show a from price and a monthly finance price, as Magnet does. Build a page for each town you work in. Reply to every review, as Benchmarx does. And collect an email at the design visit, since most of the ten capture little.
