What it means in practice
The mistake is trusting the words Gas Safe in an advert, a directory profile or an AI answer. The words are also used in trading names, and a claim without a number gives you nothing to check.
The move is to ask for the registration number, or find it on the firm’s own site, and search it on the register. It takes under a minute. Every number we could check matched.
