A three bed semi re-roof in the UK runs £6,500 to £10,500. A good roofer website costs £1,200 to £2,000, built for you, once.
One job. That is the entire business case. Everything else in this guide is detail.

The mistake most roofers make
They treat the website as an expense to minimise, then spend £150 a month, forever, renting a profile on a directory where their reviews sit next to three competitors and the customer is told to get three quotes.
The economics are backwards. The directory is the recurring cost. The website is the asset.
Here is what most roofers miss: repair work and storm damage will always come through the phone and word of mouth. The website is not for those jobs. It is for the £8,000 re-roof, where the homeowner spends two weeks comparing firms, checks everyone online, and quietly rules out anyone who looks like they might disappear with a deposit.
Your website’s job is to survive that two week background check.
What a roofer website costs in 2026
Do it yourself. Wix from around £9 a month or Squarespace from around £12 a month billed annually, plus a .co.uk domain at £7 to £15 a year. WordPress on Hostinger starts near £3 a month on the first term, with renewals roughly tripling after. Year one: £120 to £250. Fine at the Start stage if you actually put your job photos on it.
A freelancer build. £800 to £3,000 for a proper trade site, most landing between £1,200 and £2,000, plus £100 to £300 a year to keep it running. This is the right spend for most established roofing firms. Make sure the domain and logins are registered to you, not the designer.
An agency build. £2,500 to £10,000. Rarely justified for a roofing firm unless you are running multiple crews across multiple regions and the website is feeding a sales team.
What the site must prove
A homeowner spending five figures on a roof is not shopping for design. They are shopping for evidence. Give them four kinds.
Real job photos. Before, during and after. Scaffold up, felt and battens visible, finished ridge. During photos matter most, because anyone can screenshot a finished roof. Ten real jobs beat a hundred words of copy.
Your accreditations, written out. If you are NFRC or TrustMark registered, show the number, not just the badge. Anyone can paste a logo, and the homeowners doing their homework know it. We cover how they check in our guide to checking a roofer is genuinely NFRC registered.
Named towns. “Re-roofs and roof repairs across Wigan, Leigh and St Helens” tells Google and the homeowner the same useful thing. “Serving the North West” tells neither anything.
Reviews tied to jobs. “Full re-roof, March 2026, tidy crew, matched the quote” is worth five anonymous five star ratings.
Then give them two ways in: a phone number set up as click to call, and a short quote form for the planned jobs where people browse at 10pm and do not want to ring anyone.
What to skip at the Start stage
Skip the £300 a month SEO retainer until the site has real content worth ranking. Skip paid ads pointing at a homepage with no job photos. And be honest about pricing on the site where you can. Homeowners searching “new roof cost” reward the firm that answers the question.
The takeaway
The average re-roof is worth more than the best website in this guide, several times over. Spend £150 to £250 doing it yourself, or £1,200 to £2,000 doing it properly. Either way, the test is the same: would a careful homeowner, two weeks into comparing three quotes, trust this site with a £4,000 deposit?
