Bupa Dental Care scores highest of the ten UK dental groups compared, at 7.0 out of 10 on the Whito leaderboard.
Opinion and analysis. Whito read every brand below by hand on 22 October 2026, using publicly visible activity only, against fixed anchors and the same ten UK searches. Each channel is scored 0 to 10, set out under How we scored, so a score describes what we could see on the day, not the quality of the dental care. Brands cannot pay to appear or to change a score. Where a figure is not published, we say so.
Many practices assume patients find a dentist by word of mouth. On this board, search is almost empty ground. Nine of the ten dental groups appeared in none of 10 UK searches, from ‘dental implant cost UK’ to ‘dentist Leeds’. Only Bupa appeared, in 3.
Bupa Dental Care scores 7.0, ahead of Genix Healthcare on 5.9 and MyDentist on 5.6. Bupa is the only group with online booking, search visibility and a Trustpilot profile above 20,000 reviews.
Real Good Dental scores lowest at 2.0. Its homepage offers no booking route or prices, it captures no email, it has no Trustpilot profile, no Google or Meta ads were found and it appeared in none of 10 UK searches.

What the channels show
Search is almost open ground
Bupa appeared in 3 of 10 UK searches, for dentists in Manchester, Leeds and Bristol. The other nine groups appeared in none. Searches for ‘dental implant cost UK’, ‘Invisalign cost UK’ and ’emergency dentist near me UK’ went to price guides, the NHS and directories. A single practice with a clear page for its town and its treatments competes on equal terms.
Online booking is still rare
Bupa, MyDentist and Damira let a new patient book online and score 10 on website. Genix offers online booking only to existing patients. Together Dental shows private fees, such as emergency appointments from £46, and scores 7. The other five score 4 or 6, with no online booking and no prices shown.
Strong ratings, few replies
Together Dental holds 4.9 from 19,291 Trustpilot reviews and Bupa 4.8 from 25,884, but neither replied to any of its latest 20. Denplan replied to 15 and Genix to 13. Three groups, PortmanDentex, Real Good Dental and Colosseum Dental, have no profile or fewer than 50 reviews.
Email is mostly missing
Five of the ten capture no email on the homepage. Bupa, Denplan and Genix have a member or patient login, and Damira and Colosseum a newsletter form. For a service most patients use twice a year, few groups give them a reason to stay in touch between check-ups.
Key lessons for any dental practice
Let new patients book online
The three groups that take online bookings from new patients all score 10 on website. A booking link on every page removes the phone call that many patients put off.
Publish your private fees
Together Dental shows its emergency and hygiene fees; most groups here show none. A clear fee list for check-ups, hygiene, whitening and implants answers the question that the cost searches show patients are asking.
Take your town’s search
Nine of ten groups appeared in none of 10 UK searches. A page for your town with your GDC numbers, fees and the dentists’ names competes where national groups are not showing.
Reply to every review
Genix replies to 13 of its latest 20 and scores 9 on reviews. Together Dental, with a higher rating, replies to none and scores 8. Replying costs nothing but time.
Steal this playbook
Five moves from this leaderboard, ranked by return on effort.
- Reply to every review you have. Genix replies to 13 of its latest 20 and has the top reviews score here.
- Add online booking for new patients. The three groups that offer it all score 10 on website.
- Publish your private fees. Only Together Dental and MyDentist show prices on the pages we read.
- Build a page for your town and your main treatments. Nine of ten groups appeared in none of 10 UK searches.
- Collect emails for recall reminders. Five of the ten capture no email on the homepage.

How we scored
Who is on the board. Ten UK dental brands a patient is likely to meet when choosing a dentist: Bupa Dental Care (Bupa’s national chain of dental practices), MyDentist (national NHS and private dental chain), PortmanDentex (large group formed from the merger of Portman and Dentex), Damira Dental Studios (clinically led group founded in 2003), Rodericks Dental (partnership group with 200+ practices), Colosseum Dental (European dental group with UK practices), Together Dental (UK dental group), Real Good Dental (dental group with 60+ practices), Denplan (dental payment plan provider with a find-a-dentist service) and Genix Healthcare (NHS and private dental group). Chosen for relevance and size, not marketing strength.
This board was first published with scores relative to the other brands on it. On 22 October 2026 it was rescored on Whito’s fixed anchors and expanded to ten brands, so scores are not comparable with the earlier edition.
When we looked. All ten brands were read on 22 October 2026, with the ten searches below run once on that date. Meta Ad Library counts were read on 23 October 2026, after the library was unavailable on 22 October.
- Social: which platforms the brand links to from its own site, and whether we could see recent posting and video.
- Website: 2 for a brochure page, 4 with a contact route on mobile, 6 with a page per service and a one-step enquiry, 8 with prices or ranges and registration numbers shown, 10 with online booking or an instant priced quote.
- Email: visible capture only, as we did not subscribe test inboxes for this edition. 2 for a bare newsletter form, up to 10 for a loyalty or app ecosystem with personal offers.
- SEO: ten UK searches for this trade, run through a standard web search API (22 October 2026; not personalised, no location set beyond the town in the query); we counted how many returned the brand’s own site in the top ten results. 0 of 10 scores 2, 1 to 2 scores 4, 3 to 4 scores 6, 5 to 6 scores 8, 7 or more scores 10, plus 1 for a substantial advice library. The searches: emergency dentist near me UK; dental implant cost UK; Invisalign cost UK; NHS dentist accepting new patients; teeth whitening UK dentist; dentist London; dentist Manchester; dentist Birmingham; dentist Leeds; dentist Bristol.
- Paid: the Google Ads Transparency Centre (UK, last 30 days, by domain) and the Meta Ad Library (UK, active ads whose text names the brand, counted by the advertiser page). 2 for nothing found in either, 4 for active in one with fewer than 10 ads, 6 for active in both or 10+ in one, 8 for active in both with 10+ in at least one, 10 for 50+ Google ads and 10+ Meta ads. Paid describes visible activity, not quality. A low paid score is not a fault.
- Reviews: a fixed formula. Rating (4.7+ scores 4, 4.5 to 4.69 scores 3, 4.0 to 4.49 scores 2, 3.5 to 3.99 scores 1) plus volume (10,000+ scores 4, 1,000+ scores 3, 100+ scores 2, 20+ scores 1) plus replies to the latest 20 reviews (half or more scores 2, some scores 1).
- Brand: five checks worth 2 each: the same name and logo everywhere, one clear positioning line, a distinctive asset used for years, three or more independent press mentions in 90 days, and named people or expertise on the site.
These anchors are fixed for this edition, so the ten scores can be read against each other. Boards published before October 2026 used scores relative to the other brands on the board, so compare across boards with care.

Bupa Dental Care scores highest at 7.0 out of 10, ahead of Genix Healthcare on 5.9. Bupa has an online booking tool, holds 4.8 from 25,884 Trustpilot reviews and was the only group to appear in our searches, in 3 of 10.
Which dental group scores lowest, and why?
Real Good Dental scores 2.0. Its homepage shows no booking route or prices, it captures no email, it has no Trustpilot profile, no Google or Meta ads were found and it did not appear in any of 10 UK searches.
How do these dental groups compare on reviews?
Ratings run from 2.1 for Colosseum Dental, on 31 reviews, to 4.9 for Together Dental, on 19,291. Bupa Dental Care has the most reviews, 25,884. Denplan replies to 15 of its latest 20 and Genix to 13, while Bupa, Together Dental, Damira and Rodericks reply to none of their latest 20.

What can a local dental practice copy from these groups?
