Start with the free one

The Whito Visibility Check runs seventeen checks on what search engines and AI assistants can actually see when they look at your site, and scores it out of 100. It is free, it takes a minute, and no email is needed.

If you score under 50, do not buy the audit yet. The free check will already have told you what is broken. Fix that first, then come back if you want the deep version.

The mistake most electrical businesses make

A quiet month arrives and the response is almost always the same: buy more leads. Another directory, another lead pack, a bit more on Google Ads.

That treats a structural problem as a volume problem. If a customer cannot find you, cannot tell whether you are registered, or reads three different phone numbers on three different sites, then more leads is an expensive way to keep meeting the same wall. An emergency callout and a full rewire are two different customers who find you two different ways.

Whito checked 100 UK trade directory listings against Companies House. 29 pointed at businesses that are dissolved, in liquidation, facing strike off, or that have never existed on the register at all. That is the standard of the places sending you leads, and it is the standard your own listings are competing against.

Structure before scale. Find out what is actually wrong, then spend.

What the audit looks at for a electrical business

AI visibility, measured

How often ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot and Google name you when someone asks for a electrician in your area, and who gets named instead.

Every place you are described

Your site, your Google Business Profile, the directories, your NICEIC, NAPIT or ELECSA entry. Every contradiction between them, listed.

Search, the traditional kind

What you rank for now, what you could, and which pages are working against each other.

Your Google Business Profile

Usually the highest return channel in this trade, and usually the least finished.

Five competitors, compared

Named, checked the same way you were, with what they do better set out plainly.

Where the money is going

What you are paying for lead packs, directories and ads, against what it is returning.

The 90 day plan

In priority order, with the reasoning, so you can hand it to whoever does the work.

Registration with a competent person scheme is what lets you self certify notifiable work, and customers are told to check it. If yours cannot be confirmed from your own website in under ten seconds, that is a finding, and it will be in the report.

What electrician marketing actually costs

Whito publishes the numbers rather than quoting them at you. A sole trader can run effective marketing on £200 to £500 a month. Google Ads costs £3 to £18 per click on electrician keywords, with emergency terms the most expensive. EV charger installation is the fastest growing search category in the trade, up 45% year on year, and the businesses that describe it clearly on their own site are the ones getting asked about it.

All of it is free to read, with the method published. The audit is what you buy when you want that applied to your own business rather than to the trade in general.

Buy it if, and do not buy it if

Buy the audit if

  • You are spending real money every month and cannot say what it returns.
  • You are about to hire an agency and want to know what to ask for.
  • You scored over 50 on the free check and want the rest of the picture.
  • You are established, and newer electricians keep appearing above you.
Do not buy the audit if

  • You scored under 50 on the free check. Fix those first, they are free.
  • You have no website yet. Build one, then audit it.
  • You want someone to do the work afterwards. Whito does not do the work.
  • You want a call. There is no call at any point, by design.

What Whito does not sell you

This matters more than what it does sell, because it is why the advice can be trusted.

  • No retainer. The audit is one payment for one document.
  • No leads. Whito does not sell your details or anyone else’s.
  • No SEO, ads or web build. If the audit says you need those, it is not recommending itself.
  • No paid ranking. Position in the Whito directory is never for sale.

Being listed in the Whito directory is free and always will be. There are 26 electricians listed already. Claim or add your listing free, whether or not you ever buy anything.

Questions

How is this different from a free marketing audit from an agency?

A free audit from an agency is a sales document for the agency’s own services. Whito does not sell marketing services, so there is nothing for the report to steer you towards. It costs £1,280 for that reason.

What do I actually receive?

A written document covering the seven areas above, in priority order, with a 90 day plan. It is written by a person, not generated. It arrives within five working days of the form being completed.

What if it is not worth it?

Read it, and if within 14 days you decide it was not worth £1,280, reply to the email and say so. It is refunded in full and you keep the document. No form, no call, and no need to justify the decision.

Do I need to be a limited company?

No. Sole traders are audited the same way. If your business is a registered company, the audit checks that the details on your website match the Companies House record, because customers and AI assistants both use that as a trust signal.

Is there anything free I should do first?

Yes. Run the free visibility check, finish your Google Business Profile, and make sure your registration number can be confirmed from your own website. Those three cost nothing and the audit will tell you to do them anyway.
