Finding
A three bed semi costs £12 to £18 on a regular four weekly round at trade-published rates and £20 to £40 a visit at consumer guides’ rates, while a first clean is commonly charged at up to double, in published UK guides Whito read on 4 September 2026.

Window cleaning prices are unusually well published, because the trade’s own software vendors print pricing guides for their users. That gives two views of the same market: what consumer guides tell homeowners, and what round software tells cleaners to charge. They do not quite agree, and the gap is worth understanding whichever side of the squeegee you are on.

What to do with these numbers
If you are hiring: the first clean premium is normal, not a con. A neglected frame takes two or three times the work of a maintained one.
If you are the cleaner: publish your own version of the first table. Fewer than half of business websites publish any price at all, per Whito’s price transparency study, and a subscription trade suffers more from price silence than any one-off trade, because nobody subscribes to a mystery. Put the 4 weekly price for each house type, the first-clean rule, and the add-on list on one page, dated.
Common questions
How much does window cleaning cost in the UK?
At published 2026 rates, a regular 4 weekly clean runs £10 to £18 for most terraced and semi detached homes at trade-published rates, with consumer guides quoting £20 to £40 a visit. Detached homes run £15 to £60 depending on size and source. Read 4 September 2026.
Why is the first window clean more expensive?
Published guides put the first clean at 50 to 100% above the regular price, and some at double. Neglected glass and frames take considerably longer than maintained ones, so the premium reflects real extra work.
How much is gutter cleaning with a window clean?
Checkatrade’s guide, updated May 2026, publishes £100 to £150 for a semi detached gutter clean, and MyJobQuote lists £20 to £40 as a gutter add-on to a window round. Exact prices depend on height and access.
