Most UK small businesses pay between £3,000 and £6,000 for a professionally built website, with a five-page freelancer brochure site at £1,500 to £3,000 and hidden costs adding 30 to 50% on top, according to Whito’s May 2026 pricing data.

A pest control site earns its keep through structure, not size: a page per pest, proof in text, prices with dates. That structure is cheap to build and expensive to skip. Here is the market and the spec.

The spec that matters

One page per pest you treat, wasps, rats, mice, bed bugs, cockroaches, ants, each with the treatment, a dated from-price and what the customer should do before you arrive. Your proof block on every page: BPCA or NPTA number, qualifications, CRRU training, insurance, company number, in text. A prices page framed against the local council’s published fees. True hours and the areas you cover. That structure is why a pest site beats a pest brochure: each pest page is the exact answer to an urgent search, and engines quote exact answers. In our July 2026 audit, 92% of independent UK business sites gave AI crawlers no policy of any kind and almost none used correct structured data, so a modest site built properly clears the bar most of the trade sets.

Where not to spend

Horror stock photos, disease scare copy, and DIY builders that lock you in: our exit test found Wix, Durable, Framer and Hostinger’s AI builder allow no clean export of a finished site, while WordPress stays portable at £130 to £160 a year.
